The Eliot River Ramblers Soccer Club (ERRSC) is aligning its program delivery with recommendations and good practices for the appropriate development of soccer players from Canada Soccer and the PEI Soccer Association. As such, the ERRSC has three foundational expectations that reflect a fusion between what our governing associations want to see us implementing and what our members want. Those three expectations are:
While the Club is responsible for determining how those three expectations will be carried out, it is our on-field leaders (i.e., paid staff, coaches, managers, trainers) that execute on those expectations. For that reason, it is important that those leaders are appropriately educated and trained for the context in which they will be serving. Someone working with a 4-year-old player needs different preparation than someone working with an 18-year-old. However, what does not change is the consistent presence of the three expectations - safety, fun and learning. It is how those expectations are implemented at each age level that requires specific education and training of our on-field leaders.
For that reason, the ERRSC has created this policy to reflect what education and training we require and/or recommend our on-field leaders to have. Any required certification is to be gradually phased in over the next three seasons (2020-2022).
Note: The Club will reimburse individuals for the cost of registration for any of these certifications. For more details refer to the Training & Development Reimbursement Policy.
The certification standards are divided into five different contexts (click a context to be taken to those certification standards). Required certification for the 2020 season is highlighted in this blue colour. Required certification for the 2021 season is highlighted in this orange colour.
